Emerge Conference and Media Awards: Get Your Tickets!

It’s almost that time of year again and the Emerge Conference and Media Awards are fast approaching! The Emerge Conference is an annual event hosted by the University of Guelph-Humber fourth year media studies students. It is a great networking opportunity for media students and professionals as well as a chance to hear informative and motivational speeches from successful industry professionals. Among the speakers secured for this year are keynotes Angelia Misri and Dave Bidini.

Following the conference are the Emerge Media Awards, which celebrate the achievements of students in media, communications, journalism and graphic design programs across Canada. Post-secondary students have submitted their work in eight categories, including written word, audio storytelling, videography, public relations, photography, multimedia production, print design and online design. The submissions are judged by industry professionals to determine the finalists, with winners announced the evening of the awards ceremony.

This year, the Emerge Conference and EMAs will be held on March 22 at the Assembly Hall on 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive in Etobicoke. The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. And the EMAs from 5:30 to 10 p.m. with tickets to each event sold separately. Tickets for the conference go on sale Feb. 20, 2018 for $15-20.
